Will this break my site?
It's designed around the opposite guarantee. Every fix is a reversible request-time rule — nothing edits your files — with a complete change log and one-click rollback. A safety layer checks every destructive action against your real content: IndexSweep will refuse to touch any URL that resolves to a real page, real pagination, or a real archive.
Does my data go anywhere?
No. Analysis runs entirely on your server; there's no account, no API, no phoning home. That's the shipping product today. If Pro is ever built, it would connect to Google Search Console read-only, at your instruction, with the data staying inside your own WordPress admin — see the privacy policy for the specifics.
Do I need this if I run Rank Math / Yoast / AIOSEO?
They're complements, not competitors. Your SEO plugin manages titles, sitemaps, and shows index status. IndexSweep does the janitorial work none of them do: identifying junk URLs, fixing them safely, and repairing the broken links that create them. It detects your SEO plugin and stays out of its way.
Isn't noindex the wrong tool for crawl budget?
Technically sharp question — and correct. noindex is an indexing directive: Google has to keep crawling a URL to see it, so it cleans your index report and consolidates signals but does not reduce crawling. That's why IndexSweep matches the directive to the goal: 410s and robots.txt suggestions where the aim is less crawling, redirects for signal consolidation, noindex where the aim is report hygiene — and content-link repair, the only fix that stops junk URLs being discovered at all.
Will cleaning junk URLs improve my rankings?
Honest answer: it depends on scale. On a small, healthy site the mechanical benefit is modest — the win is legibility and certainty. On larger or older sites (parameter bloat, plugin archaeology, thousands of pages), consolidating duplicate signals and reclaiming crawl budget has real effects. Either way, you'll know exactly what state your index is in — which is more than most site owners can say.
